Rune Factory 2, Animal Crossing, and the World of Warcraft

So I realized something about Animal Crossing that I’d apparently forgotten since I last played it: it’s time consuming! It’s like having another life…where everyone is a talking animal and your main motivation for living is to get as much money out of your town as possible to get the biggest house and be famously recognized by some imaginary society for how good your stuff looks. Oh wait. ;)

Also, I need that time to play WoW!

And to add to this, my boyfriend got addicted to Rune Factory and stopped letting me play it so I got sucked into other things.

In any case I need to work on my tablet skills.

So I’ve been completely absorbed by WoW over the past week, and I’ve found myself particularly enjoying playing as my Resto Druid. Mmm, Night Elf animations. Suhweet.

Anyway, I’m not a particularly great healer. I play on a Macbook (the old model with a button still in the trackpad) and without a mouse (even though I own one). I had a wipe or two…never bad enough to get booted!…plus it was partially the tank’s fault…cough cough…

But then I found this addon: Healium.

Now, I usually hate add-ons. I use Recount like everybody else, and I’m still iffy about Omen, but Healium just seemed perfect for me. And it was.

Healium is every minimalistic healer’s dream. Combined with Bartender4, this add-on lets me have so much screen space and open taskbars that it’s not even funny—it’s orgasmic. I might even become a full-time healer thanks to this add-on.

***(On a side note, Omen got a whole lot funnier for me when I started using the Zoidberg freakout noise that came with VanasKOS as my threat alert. WOOP WOOP WOOP WOOP)

Playing WoW again. Dammit.

Charcoal pencils, colored pencils…even an eraser that looks like a mechanical pen. But instead of lead…it yields absolution! T_T

So hopefully now I will practice drawing more, and maybe have things to scan to my computer and trace over with my tablet. I figure that would be an easier way to practice fine-tuning my motor skills all over again.

So unfortunately due to income situations, I had to cancel my WoW subscrip. :<

(Thankfully I can still play it until June 2nd ^_^!)

I’ve been getting into some of my old games, mostly simulators of social interaction since I am getting zilch for that lately. I really need to leave my house once in a while. :|

Rune Factory 2 and Animal Crossing are the games of choice right now. I got my boyfriend back into A.C. and he’s newly become addicted to RF2. There’s just something about men farming and gettin’ babes and being self-reliant.

Did I mention I’ve been watching a lot of Futurama?

In news unrelated to video games, I found a stray cat and took him home today. I can’t keep him because we already have two dogs and live in a small apartment, and really can’t afford it.

He has some ticks and is dirty but doesn’t have any cuts, and he isn’t mean towards humans at all. Rather, he walked right up to me and started rubbing on my legs. He let me pick him up, drive him home, and feed him all without a single scratch or hiss my way. (He was scared by the dogs when we brought him in, because my puppy barked curiously at him. That was the only time he hissed.)

He’s very much a lap kitty, and is very quiet unless he wants you to pet him. Then he just purrs and meows at you. We’re fostering him until we can find him a good home or get money to donate him to the humane society… But if anybody in the Greenville, NC area wants a lovable new friend, please consider adopting him. For now, we’re calling him Archimedes. :)

***UPDATE: Archie is litter trained! He comes with a free bag of kitty food! SOMEBODY, anybody, please give Archie a loving home!
